Subtitle Processor by developer Solar Model is a robust, free video subtitle editing tool. This software can easily handle small and large projects alike as it provides users with many advanced editing features, such as the ability to merge and split subtitles, and insert subtitle transitions. Subtitle Processor can load up to two subtitle tracks for editing simultaneously in dozens of encoding formats, ranging from Unicode to Croatian.

Language support is also available in the Subtitle Process user interface, as toggling the language options will switch all menu and tab text to the chosen language. There are twelve languages to choose from and, as a bonus, Subtitle Processor doesn’t require a restart for language changes to take effect.

Regardless of the selected language, Subtitle Processor comes with a built-in spell check function, the ability to preset correction rules and spelling dictionaries, and a translator function. However, Subtitle Processor isn’t all about text. Opened videos can be viewed using the built-in player to aid subtitle synchronization, view subtitles against different aspect ratios, and incrementally advance the video.

On the side of customization, there is a buried ‘Theme’ option in the Subtitle Processor menu, which allows the color of the software's user interface to be changed. Also, both the main user interface layout and the workspace layout (the subtitle editing section) can be edited and saved for future use.

Despite the robustness of the Subtitle Processor software, there is no help file to be found within the program or online. The amount of options may intimidate a novice user; even the settings page is full of seemingly random preferences.

Nevertheless, Subtitle Processor is all-inclusive and has everything that could be asked for from a subtitle editing software.
